How to Create & Schedule Your Social Media Posts in NOLA with CSV File
Scheduling social media posts in bulk can be a massive time-saver, especially when you want to maintain a consistent posting schedule across multiple platforms. With NOLA’s Social Planner, you can schedule up to 90 posts at once using a CSV file!
What is a CSV File?
A CSV (Comma-Separated Values) file allows you to organize and structure data for easy import and scheduling. With the help of a properly formatted CSV file, you can have your entire social media plan ready to go in just a few steps. Let’s dive in!
Format Your CSV File
Create File- When creating your CSV file you are going to need to use Excel or Google Sheets to create a new spreadsheet.
Date and Time- This is where you specify when your post should go live. Use the format YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm:ss. Example: 2023-10-14 15:00:00.
Add Content to CSV File
Column Header- Make sure that the column header is labeled “content”.
Content Column- This is where you place the text for each post, including hashtags if needed. Ensure that the content abides by the character limits for each platform (see additional tips for content character limits).
Add Links to Your CSV (Optional)
Column Header- Make sure that the column header is labeled “link” (OGmetaUrl).
Preview Link (Optional)- If you want to include a link preview (like an article or website link), use this column. Note that if other media, such as images or videos, are uploaded, they will override the link preview.
Add Media to CSV (Optional)
Column Header- Make sure that the column header is labeled “imageUrls”
Image URL- If your post includes an image, paste the URL here. You can include up to 10 images by separating the URLs with commas. Ensure the links are in proper formats like png, jpg, or jpeg.
Add GIF to CSV (Optional)
Column Header- Make sure that the column header is labeled “gifUrl”
GIF URL- Use this column if you want to attach a GIF. Avoid adding other media types like images or videos if you use this column.
Add Video URL to CSV (Optional)
Column Header- Make sure that the column header is labeled “videoUrls”
Video URL- Similar to images, if your post contains a video, paste the video URLs here. Up to 10 videos can be included in one post.
